The Small Industries Development Organization (SIDO) in Manyara Region plans to organise an exhibition of products made by small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
The fair would be meant to improve the market for goods produced by SMEs in the northern zone.
SMEs from four regions of Tanga, Kilimanjaro, Arusha and Manyara would be expected to participate in the trade fair that is also to involve entrepreneurs from neighbouring Kenya.
``This year`s trade fair is also meant to create avenues for entrepreneurs to exchange business skills and thereafter uplift their business undertakings,`` Arusha Sido regional manager Akundaeli Ndosi said.
Ndosi was speaking to journalists ahead of the exhibition, which is scheduled to take place from June 4 to 8, this year, in Babati township.
According to Ndosi, between 25,000 and 30,000 people were expected to attend the trade exposition in Babati in which more than 50 small and medium enterprises were expected to participate.
Products expected to be displayed would include various simple machines using either electricity or other sources of power.
``Imported machines will not be allowed to be displayed at the trade fair…we want to focus on locally made goods and machines,`` Ndosi stressed.
She named other products to be exhibited as those produced by blacksmiths, food and drink processors, hides, local medicines and other products.
Sido called on entrepreneurs from the selected regions to effectively participate in the exhibition in order for them to enjoy diverse business opportunities.
Industry, Trade and Marketing minister Dr Mary Nagu would officiate at the exhibition.
